Chicago White Sox against the
New York Giants, with the White Sox winning the series four games to two. The White Sox were led by pitcher Eddie Cicotte, who won two games in the series, and first baseman Chick Gandil, who hit .304 with two home runs. The Giants were led by pitcher Rube Benton, who won two games in the series, and outfielder Benny Kauff, who hit .353 with two home runs. The White Sox won Game 1 at Comiskey Park in
Chicago by a score of 4-2, and then won Game 2 by a score of 5-4 in 11 innings. The Giants then won the next two games at the Polo Grounds in
New York, but the White Sox won the final two games to take the series. It was the second World Series championship for the White Sox franchise.
