However, the Giants put up a strong fight and managed to upset the Patriots with a 17-14 victory. The Giants defense was able to shut down the Patriots' high-powered offense, while the Giants offense was able to move the ball effectively. The game was decided by a late touchdown pass from Eli Manning to Plaxico Burress that gave the Giants the lead with just 35 seconds left in the game. The Giants were able to hold on to the lead and win the game.
